Map of State and Local Initiatives to Enroll Individuals in Medicaid in Criminal Justice Settings

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School, with the support of the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, have created a national picture of the enrollment efforts that are taking place within criminal justice jurisdictions throughout the United States. The map includes state and local jurisdictions that have launched programs to enroll detained or incarcerated individuals in Medicaid. This work is a part of the larger study being conducted which looks at the justice and health outcomes achieved as a result of the enrollment efforts being carried out by TASC in conjunction with the Cook County health and Hospitals System and the Cook County Sheriff's Office at the Cook County Jail.
